The formal ceremony for presenting the Order of Friendship to Mr.Tomoyuki Kimura, the outgoing Asian Development Bank (ADB) Country Director in Vietnam was organized by the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) in Ha Noi on March 24.
On behalf of the Communist Party and the State of Vietnam, CPV Poliburo Member - SBV Governor Nguyen Van Binh had presented the Order of Friendship and the Commemorative medal for the development of Vietnam banking to Mr.Tomoyuki Kimura.
The outgoing ADB Country Director had spent 4 years term in Vietnam from Jully 2011 to October 2015. As a fellow companion of Vietnam government agencies, he had demonstrated the exceptional contribution to Vietnam in defining and successfuly implementing Country Partnership Strategy Vietnam 2012 – 2015, and enhancing the co-operation between Vietnam and the ADB in various sectors such as policy consultancy, technical assistance and project financing. The total fund and investment of the ADB for Vietnam reached USD 1.3 billion per year averagely under his four year term.
For his part, outgoing Asian Development Bank (ADB) Country Director in Vietnam Tomoyuki Kimura expressed his honor and pride when being awarded the noble rewards from the President of Vietnam and the SBV. He affirmed that the last four year term is unforgotable experience of his life. He is impressed by the SBV performance under the leadership of Governor Nguyen Van Binh and the SBV’s success in leading the economy on to sustainable development.
After the ceremony, Mr. Tomoyuki Kimura, the newly appointed Deputy general Director of Strategy and Policy Department of the ADB and ADB delegation had a work meeting with SBV Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong to discuss several issues relating to ADB strategic priorities and actions to accelerate the supporting activities for Vietnam and the region toward 2030.

Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong congratulated Mr.Tomoyuki Kimura on being awarded the Friendship Order from the President of Vietnam for his great contribution to the enhancement of the cooperative relation between the ADB and Vietnam, and the Commemorative Medal for the development of Vietnam Banking System. She exchanged with the ADB delegation about strategic priorities of Vietnam in the coming time and key investment sectors needed the ADB support and finance. She stated that Vietnam Government highly appreciates the relationship and cooperation between Vietnam and the ADB. Vietnam supports for and shares with ADB strategy for a common objective of poverty reduction and its appropriateness with Vietnam socio – economic strategy in a long run.
