Press release on issuance of Circular No. 06/2024/TT-NHNN
As directed by the Government, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has coordinated with the relevant Ministries and agencies in reviewing and proposing for the Government’s consideration of an extension to the implementation of Circular No. 02/2023/TT-NHNN on rescheduling debt payment and maintaining the debt categories to support customers in difficulties.
As authorized by the Government, on June 18, 2024, the SBV Governor had issued Circular No. 06/2024/TT-NHNN revising a number of Articles of Circular No. 02/2023/TT-NHNN, with specific amendments and supplementations to Paragraph 2 and Paragraph 8 of Article 4 of Circular No. 02/2023/TT-NHNN, specifically as follows:
Revising Paragraph 2 of Article 4: “2. The obligation to repay the principals and/or interest arising from the effectiveness of this Circular to the end of December 31, 2024.”.
Revising Paragraph 8 of Article 4: “8. The rescheduling of the debt payment in line with the provisions of this Circular shall be implemented from the effective date of this Circular until the end of December 31, 2024.”.
The extension of the implementation of Circular No. 02/2023/TT-NHNN on rescheduling the debt payment and maintaining the debt categories until December 31, 2024 is expected to help remove the difficulties for businesses and the people, as well as promote the economic growth and maintain the economic stability.
