On December 18, 2025, at the headquarters of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), Deputy Governor Nguyen Ngoc Canh had a meeting with Mr. Khairussaleh Ramli, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank).

At the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Ngoc Canh shared insights into Viet Nam’s recent macro-economic developments, as well as orientations for the coming period, including those in the banking sector. The SBV Deputy Governor noted that Viet Nam has been and will continue to implement a number of large-scale infrastructure projects, which require substantial financial resources. In this context, the participation of international investors and financial institutions, including Maybank, plays an important role.
For his part, Mr. Khairussaleh Ramli stated that Maybank is currently the largest commercial bank in Malaysia and ranks fourth among ASEAN banks in terms of total assets. Maybank provides a wide range of financial services, including retail banking, corporate banking, investment banking, bond issuance, asset management, insurance. He reaffirmed Maybank’s commitment to further expanding its investment in Viet Nam, thereby contributing to enhanced capital provision for enterprises operating in the country.
Toward the end of the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Ngoc Canh acknowledged Maybank’s engagement with the Vietnamese economy. The SBV Deputy Governor also highly appreciated Maybank’s commitment to expanding its investment in Viet Nam and encouraged the Group to serve as a bridge to promote the participation of Malaysian companies in the Vietnamese market, as well as to further expand cooperation with international investors and financial institutions.
Mr. Khairussaleh Ramli sincerely thanked the SBV for its support of Maybank Vietnam over the years, and reaffirmed Maybank’s commitment to accompanying and actively contributing to Viet Nam’s economic and financial development in the coming period.
