On December 16, 2024, the Ocean Commercial One Member Limited Liability Bank (OceanBank) officially announced the change of its name to Modern Bank of Vietnam (MBV).
The name change was carried out in accordance with Decision No. 741/QD-TTGSNH1 dated December 5, 2024 of the Banking Supervision Agency under the SBV, which revises the substance of "Bank’s name" as written in the License for the establishment and operations of the Ocean Commercial One Member Limited Liability Bank (OceanBank). Accordingly, from December 18, 2024, the bank shall operate under the new name, specifically as follows:
- Full name in Vietnamese: Ngân hàng Trách nhiệm hữu hạn Một thành viên Việt Nam Hiện Đại.
- Full name in English: Modern Bank of Vietnam Limited.
- Abbreviated name: MBV
In the new period after the name change, the MBV aims to become a modern, safe and sustainable bank, contributing to Vietnam's socio-economic development, and strengthening its important role in the comprehensive financial ecosystem of the MB Group.
This name change also marks a strong transformation with many new opportunities for the MBV to affirm its value and its pioneering role in the modern banking sector in Vietnam.
