The delegation of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and the Ministry of Finance (MoF) led by SBV Deputy Governor Dao Minh Tu and Deputy Minister of Finance Tran Xuan Ha paid a working visit to Italy to exchange experience in supporting the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) on January 9 – 13, 2015.
Under the framework of the working visit, SBV Deputy Governor Dao Minh Tu and Deputy Minister of Finance Tran Xuan Ha had a meeting with Mr Luigi Federico Signorini, Deputy Director General of the Bank of Italy in the headquarter of the Bank of Italy on January 12. At the meeting, the two sides expressed their hope for further cooperation in the banking sector between Vietnam and Italy.
In addition, the delegation of Vietnam and the Bank of Italy had a discussion about issues related to policies on monetary stabilization and SMEs support, and measures of strengthening cooperation in the banking sector between the two countries.
On the afternoon of January 12, the delegation had a meeting with the Italian Ministry of Economic Development to learn about the Reform and Development Strategy of the Italian economy; the structure and role of SMEs; experiences in formulating policies of Italian Government and the coordination between ministries and relevant agencies to develop SMEs.
Moreover, the delegation also had meetings with the Italian Banking Association and 08 Italian commercial banks, namely Unicredit, Intesa Sanpaolo, Banca Popolare, Mediobanca, BPER, BNL ... to learn about experience in credit support, including the establishment of investment fund for development assistance, credit guarantee fund, the methods of financing for SMEs...; and discuss measures of promoting cooperative relation in the banking sector between the two countries.
