On the same day, Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong had a meeting with Mr. Agustín Carstens, General Manager of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). At the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong affirmed that the SBV always has high evaluation for the BIS’s role and contributions to maintaining the financial stability and promoting international cooperation in the finance and banking sector, especially among the central banks.

Over the past time, the SBV and the BIS have implemented many cooperative activities on investment and capacity building in the field of central bank management. On this occasion, Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong expressed her hope to further enhance the cooperation with the BIS in the coming time in order to exchange knowledge and experience in the management of the foreign exchange reserves, the payment systems and the banking supervision in the forms of presentations, seminars and conferences in Vietnam, sending officials to attend training courses and seminars overseas organized by the BIS. The SBV would also actively participate in and contribute to the fora on banking operations organized within the BIS framework.
As scheduled, the SBV Deputy Governor would attend the 39th Council of Governors of the Central Banks of the Southeast Asia Research and Training Center (SEACEN) and the 55th High-Level Conference with the theme of "Data and Technology: Capturing Innovation".
