Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) had a meeting with Mr. Heo Young Taeg, Vice President of Shinhan Bank Global Business Group, in Hanoi on January 11.

At the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong congratulated Mr. Heo Young Taeg, General Director of Shinhan Bank Vietnam on being appointed as Vice President of Shinhan Bank Global Business Group. She expressed her belief that Mr. Heo Young Taeg would continue to contribute to enhancing cooperative relation between South Korea and Vietnam in general, and between the SBV and Shinhan Bank in particular. She also congratulated Mr. Shin Dong Min Francesco on being appointed as General Director of Shinhan Bank Vietnam.
In addition, Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong emphasized that Vietnam and South Korea became strategic partners and obtained rapid development in the relation of trade and investment. She said that over the past years, South Korean enterprises and credit institutions have greatly contributed to socio-economic development in Vietnam and helping Vietnam maintain economic growth at relatively high level in the region. She asserted that Shinhan Bank Vietnam is one of foreign banks effectively operating and always strictly complying with Vietnamese laws and SBV’s regulations in the banking sector. She stated the SBV highly appreciated business strategy of Shinhan Bank Vietnam and always facilitated Shinhan Bank Vietnam as well as other foreign banks to operate effectively in Vietnam.
For his part, Mr. Heo Young Taeg expressed his sincere thanks to the SBV for its support for operations of Shinhan Bank Vietnam. He said that Vietnam is one of the most important markets Shinhan Bank Vietnam operates and supports not only for Korean enterprises but also for Vietnamese enterprises and individuals.
