Press release on the issuance of Circular No.16/2018/TT-NHNN

On July 31st 2018, the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) issued Circular No.16/2018/TT-NHNN amending and supplementing a number of articles of Circular No.36/2014/TT-NHNN dated November 20th 2014 regulating the safety limits and ratios for transactions performed by the credit institutions and the foreign bank branches.

Circular No.16/2018/TT-NHNN consists of 3 Articles amending the application of the exchange rates to calculate the safety limits and ratios in Circular No.36 / TT-NHNN, specifically:

  • Article 1: Supplementing the definition of the exchange rates; adjusting the exchange rates to determine the solvency ratios, the maximum ratios of short-term funds to be used for medium and long-term loans, the ratios of outstanding loans over the total deposits.
  • Article 2: Implementation.
  • Article 3: Coming into effect

    • This Circular took effect from July 31st 2018.
